Holiday Eating

So most of the advice you might be seeing for Thanksgiving is to not care about what you eat.  And while this laid back attitude has its merits, some of you may care, so here are some tips!

First and foremost, try and not calorie/macro count. Give yourself a break.  Instead try these:

  1. Make sure to load up on veggies, even if they come in a creamy casserole version, micronutrients are still in there.
  2. Go lighter on dessert.  A lot of times when we are going all in on dinner, we take that same attitude towards dessert.  The result is usually feeling overstuff and uncomfortable.  Bring a “healthier” dessert as an option.
  3. Drink plenty of water.  Chances are you will be drinking alcohol, so make sure to stay hydrated.
  4. Eat slowly, the slower you eat, the fuller you will feel without adding a ton of extra calories and over eating.  Remember to enjoy every bite, Thanksgiving is only once a year after all.
  5. Be Thankful, this goes without saying but we live in a first world country where most of the time we are worried about over eating.  There are people, in this country and abroad who will never “get” to worry about over eating.

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow and thank you so much for reading my blog and/or following me on Facebook or Instagram.  I truly appreciate it.

Holiday eating can be dangerous! That is something that we should always remember. Those who are trying to reduce might be tempted with luscious food as it is very hard to say no! Despite the difficulty, I am sure that you will have your ways on how to overcome it. All you need to have is dedication and patience. Dedication because temptations are everywhere; you need to be dedicated on what you want to do and changes that you want to happen! Patience because we all know it's going to be hard!
